SITUATIONAL GUIDANCE

Respecting self, getting along with others, respecting authority figures, being responsible and completing tasks.

EDUCATION

All aspects of the youths’ educational needs shall be met. Going to school, team meetings, and participating in the development of an Individual Education Plan will be a priority.

HOME MANAGEMENT

Making beds, changing and washing linens, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting and other necessary home management needs.

LIFE SKILLS

Personal hygiene, health needs and services, consumer education for independent living, budgeting, financial assistance and advice as well as communication skills.

About

YCC serves non-violent juveline offenders age 6+

Founded in 1981 as the Youth Crisis Shelter, “The Center” has taken care of thousands of young men over the years. In addition to being a long term placement for non-violent juvenile offenders, the “Center” is also licensed through KDHE and SRS as a shelter/temporary care facility. YCC serves neglected and abused children and adolescents ages 6 and older as a temporary home to give case workers time to evaluate a child’s situation and make an appropriate long term placement decision.
